A New Kind of Greeting Card

My friend Mark just sent me the following link. Check it out — here is a designer who, inspired by her own experience, decided to design some greeting cards she thought would be appropriate for dealing with cancer. Not a bad idea. Maybe I should get in on this. Funnily enough, I can relate to each and every one of them based on things people said or didn’t say while I was going through treatment, even if I would design mine slightly differently.  🙂

  1. These are wonderful and beautiful — although having never gone through what a survivor has, I would feel presumptuous sending one: sounding as if I were “in the know” about cancer.
I still think you and Cath ought to write that Little Black Book of Inappropriate Comments!

    • I completely agree. It is pretty much impossible to know what is and isn’t right unless you have been through something, isn’t it? So it will be interesting to see whether these take hold. However, since they are designed by someone who has been through treatment and that is her schtick, I suppose that speaks for itself. However, these would probably offend some people because everyone is different. For instance, I would have liked a card that said “you look smashing bald and your tits are higher than I remember” but that might not be just the thing for everyone, hm?

  2. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very
hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.
I must say you’ve done a amazing job with this.

Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Chrome.
    Excellent Blog!
